About Oluwadara Kehinde (Akan)

Oluwadara Kehinde (Akan) is the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections. Many constituents still know him as Akan — his former name — and he remains deeply rooted in Owode Ketu and Ayetoro, where he grew up and continues to maintain strong family and community ties.
He is a Chartered Accountant (ICAN), a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and a professional with practical experience in cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance. He brings about a decade of Ogun State civil service experience under the Office of the Accountant General, where he worked on budgeting, expenditure monitoring and public financial management. He also carries international exposure from professional work in Washington, DC, giving him a wider view of how modern institutions and technology can serve local communities.
His people-centred development agenda focuses on youth empowerment, agriculture and value addition, entrepreneurship and small business, education and skills, accountable representation, and infrastructure and rural welfare. Representation, in his view, must go beyond occupying a seat at the National Assembly — the mandate must attract opportunities, influence policy, and champion issues that affect farmers, traders, students, artisans and families every day across both Local Government Areas.
He believes politics should be practical and continuous: listening in the wards, tracking interventions, opening doors for young people, and insisting on transparency so that federal representation delivers year-round results, not only campaign-season promises.
“The people must not only hear from their representative during elections; they must feel represented throughout the tenure.”
At the National Assembly, he will use legislative advocacy, oversight and continuous constituency engagement to push infrastructure, economic development, youth opportunity and rural welfare — so communities from Ayetoro to Imeko, Ibese to Owode, feel the benefit of serious, homegrown representation.

Youth Empowerment
Expand skills acquisition, employment, entrepreneurship support, digital and IT training, and intervention programmes. Young people should have a voice in governance — not only be mobilised at election time.
Agriculture & Value Addition
Farming remains a major livelihood. Advocate for modern practices, processing, value addition, and better opportunities for grassroots farmers and agribusiness.
Entrepreneurship & Small Business
Support small businesses through grants, training and intervention programmes so local traders, artisans and startups can grow and create jobs.
Education & Skills
Prioritise vocational training, digital education, IT skills and practical learning pathways for the modern economy. Support teachers and learners across the constituency.
Accountable Representation
Transparent, year-round engagement. Oversight, feedback loops, and a representative who remains accessible to every ward — not only during campaigns.
Infrastructure & Rural Welfare
Push for roads, water, power access and community welfare so rural and peri-urban communities share in development gains.
